Multidisciplinary artist Amie Siegel discusses how the work of George Stubbs has informed her recent film 'Bloodlines', a commission by the National Galleries of Scotland, exploring art, pedigree and cultural identification.

About the artist

Amie Siegel works variously between film, video, photography, performance and installation. Recent solo exhibitions include Medium Cool, Blaffer Art Museum, Houston; 'Winter', Guggenheim Museum Bilbao; 'Strata', South London Gallery; and 'Provenance', The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. Her work is in public collections including The Museum of Modern Art, New York; Tate Modern; and the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York. Siegel has been a fellow of the DAAD Berliner-Künstlerprogramm and the Guggenheim Foundation. Siegel lives in New York City. The film 'Bloodlines' was on display at the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art from 12 March 2022 and Thomas Dane Gallery, London, from 26 April 2022.
