Correspondence between Michael Levey and Wolfgang Fischer of Fischer Fine Art Ltd (dealers) discussing the Klimt and the fact that a 10 per cent reduction in the asking price could be possible for the Gallery. $200,000 is eventually paid however, receipt in dollars dated 30 April 1976. Receipt in sterling dated 11 May 1976 gives the price paid for the picture as £109,679.19. Press release announcing acquisition. Papers from the Finance department recording purchase.
