Description
Correspondence with Sidney Colvin of the NACF re the acquisition of pictures by Rossetti and Ford Madox Brown in the Rae Collection including Mr Arthur P. Du Cros' subscription towards the purchase and Mr Ricketts' proposed gift of the portrait of 'Lucrezia Borgia'.
The file also includes offer and/or acceptance letters for further works presented by or through the Fund in 1916, namely a landscape by Constable, 'Pelligrini' by Degas, the 'Passover' by Rossetti, 'Cafe, Stamboul' by J.F. Lewis and a drawing by Charles Shannon [the last two works being declined by the NG]
