Cornelis van Haarlem

Cornelis Cornelisz. was born in Haarlem. He was a pupil of Gillis Congnet in Antwerp for a year, but afterwards was active in Haarlem. He was a leading figure - with Hendrick Goltzius and Karel van Mander - in the group of Haarlem Mannerists, whose style was strongly influenced by that of the artists at the court of Rudolf II in Prague.
