Get creative in the school holidays with the Free Summer of Art – a programme of hands-on art activities for families
Build a castle, paint a masterpiece, explore children’s artworks in the Take One Picture exhibition, or embark on an adventure with The Keeper of Paintings.
For two weeks in August, join our NG Creative Community for immersive, hands-on art workshops - made by kids, for kids. All activities are free with no booking required. Bring family, friends and a packed lunch to enjoy a summer full of creativity.
Get inspired. Get creative. Get messy.
As part of our NG Creative Community, local Westminster families have worked with artist Kimbal Bumstead to create playful and imaginative art activities inspired by the Take One Picture exhibition.
Paint unique artworks, explore our exhibitions, share your stories and get creative together.
Open daily throughout the summer holidays
Discover a vibrant space for creativity and exploration at the Roden Centre for Creative Learning. Open every day during the summer holidays, the Centre offers a range of hands-on, drop-in activities inspired by the National Gallery’s collection. From painting and drawing to building and dressing up, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
No booking required - just bring your curiosity, your creativity and maybe a packed lunch too!
