About

The regatta is about to begin, and everyone is invited to the celebration! Which animal will you become?

Inspired by the lively carnival atmosphere of Canaletto's 'A Regatta on the Grand Canal', create your own animal mask using colourful papers, feathers, crayons and drawing materials. Choose from a selection of animal templates – or invent your own – as you transform yourself into a playful carnival character ready to join the festivities.

Before you begin, discover your carnival alter ego with our animal personality quiz! Will you be as brave as a lion, as curious as a cat, or as wise as an elephant?

Your Artists

Daisy Luck is a practicing artist, illustrator and Gallery Educator who has previously worked in Secondary art education, both in London and in Devon. She studied Illustration at Falmouth University. Within her own artistic practice, Daisy incorporates drawing mediums and oil paints to create textural, layered pieces, exploring themes of identity and belonging.

Joanna Conybeare is an artist and Gallery Educator who has worked in Primary and Secondary schools in London and the south coast as a teacher and subject lead for Art and Design. In her own artistic practice, she uses clay, porcelain and terracotta to explore the figure, enjoying the immediacy of the material that enables her to ‘draw’ three-dimensionally.
