About

Families are welcome to explore our paintings with play resources designed by artists with children and families. 

Each weekend and school holiday we have play boxes set out which you can explore together. Will you dress up as one of our paintings? Be inspired to build from the architecture in the paintings or investigate gold with light and reflection? 

There are drawing resources, drawing prompts and a space upstairs for you to relax and enjoy your packed lunch together. 

Before you go inside the Gallery to see the paintings, you can leave your buggy in the buggy park. We also have lockers, baby changing facilities and a Changing Places toilet.

Free, drop-in sessions

The Roden Centre for Creative Learning has its own entrance directly on Orange Street. Families can also access the Centre through Room 18 of the main Gallery during weekends and school holidays.
