The early morning deep dive tour starts at 8.45am before the Gallery opens and promises to offer a deeper understanding of this radical Impressionist painting.
Muriel will guide you through Discover Degas & Miss La La, featuring the striking portrait of circus artist Miss La La, or Anna Albertine Olga Brown (1858‒1945). Degas captured Miss La La in one of her most perilous acts: suspended from a rope held between her teeth by a leather mouthpiece, hoisted up towards the ceiling of the Cirque Fernando.
Your host
Muriel Carré is an award-winning guide specialising in art and architecture. Muriel studied English Literature and History at Université Sorbonne Nouvelle, Paris, followed by a Master's degree in Art History at Christie's, London. Alongside teaching English Literature in France and abroad, Muriel has worked for a contemporary art online magazine in Madrid. Muriel now leads tours in English and French in all the major London museums and historic houses.
