Van de Velde
This file contains correspondence between Kay and Captain Bruce Ingram about Ingram's paintings by Willem van de Velde the Elder and the Younger. Four letters to the Editor of 'The Times' from Capt. Ingram about his paintings (1933-37). It also contains notes and correspondence about works by van de Velde in other collections and a number of black and white photographs and prints from magazines.
The file was originally in a folder marked 'National Gallery Library' and it is unclear when it was added to the Kay papers. An old reference code Box E1. 6 21 had been crossed out and number (18) written in pencil on the cover. It may originally have been catalogued as part of the National Gallery Library. It does not obviously relate to any of the other Kay material (except by provenance) so it has been arranged separately and stands alone as a single file.
The contents are numbered NGA04/4/1-53
