Administrative history

In 1969 Davies was asked to contribute to a catalogue that was being prepared for an exhibition of Anonymous Flemish Primitives, held at the Groeningemuseum in Brugge from 12 June - 21 September 1969. Davies advised and corrected entries on four specific pictures: Workshop of the Master of 1518 The Crucifixion [NG718]; Master of Brugges Passion Scenes Christ presented to the People [NG1087]; Workshop of the Master of the Magdalen Legend The Magdalen [NG2614] and Netherlandish Acts of Charity [NG4573]. At the time Davies was also working on a book (Les Primitifs Flamands, Melbourne with Ursula Hoff of the National Gallery Victoria, Melbourne) and was able to contribute other entries that he had prepared for this publication.
