Letter to Lord Hylton
|Date||17 Mar 1880|
The Director has looked through his catalogue of the royal collection in Berlin and Munich and has not found any reference to the picture that Hylton mentions. After Hylton left the other day however, Eastlake recollected that the Gallery has a monochrome oil study by van Dyke in one of the lower rooms. This may be of interest, and Hylton is very welcome to visit in order to inspect the picture should he wish to do so.
