Title

Letter to Secretary of Treasury

Date

Description

Explains that Edmund Paine, a curator, died on the 9 Oct. It is suggested that his now vacant post should be filled by the present Head Porter, William Oldham. The porters will then each be promoted 'one step' in accordance with their seniority. This will leave the position of Junior Porter vacant. It is suggested that this job should be given to Thomas William Thorgar, whose father is an Inspector of Police who has been on duty for many years at the Gallery. The salary for Junior Porter is given as being £70 per annum.
