Re the hanging of the east wall of the square room by Mr Critchfield and his wishes re pictures requiring cleaning. Mentions the mishap of cleaning the Annibale Carracci, where he was not informed of Boxall's intention. Suggests writing to the British Museum Trustees to ask permission for the Carracci, the Rubens landscape and any other museum pictures to be cleaned. Thinks the Rubens will be a resurrection if uncovered as the Poussin was
