Photograph of a painting by William Walcot. Pen and black ink and watercolour, heightened with white. 21 1/2 x 30 1/4 in (54.5 x 77cm). Sold at Sotheby's, 28th April 1988, lot 592. In 1911 the idea of a memorial to King Edward VII (died 1910) in Trafalgar Square was mooted, with Lutyens as architect. Nothing came of the scheme, but Lutyens was approached again in 1937 to redesign the existing 19th century fountains. Copy photograph: Sotheby's. Neg. 3M 96312
