Set sail for a summer of art and adventure at the National Gallery
Step into the artist Canaletto's Venice and discover a world of creativity inspired by Take One Picture. Explore the exhibition of children's artworks from across the UK, climb aboard an 'almost' life-size gondola, create your own Venetian souvenirs and enjoy playful activities designed for families to explore together.
Across August, join storytellers, Gallery educators and young creatives for free tours, stories and hands-on workshops that bring paintings to life. Whether you're drawing, making, imagining, or simply taking time to play, there's something to discover every time you visit.
All activities are free. Drop in, or book when you arrive. Enjoy our cool spaces, explore and make the Gallery part of your summer.
Get making in the Clore Art Studio, where artist-educators will lead a different hands-on creative activity each week. Inspired by Canaletto's 'A Regatta on the Grand Canal' and the children's artworks in the Take One Picture exhibition, families can experiment with a range of artist-quality materials and techniques. Designed to be open-ended and accessible for all ages, these workshops invite everyone to explore, create and make something uniquely their own.
