Description
Two copies of a transcript (one annotated) of a letter from Thomas Agnew to Mrs McBride, his aunt, who resided in Hull. He apologises for not replying to his cousin's letter sooner, and updates her on his situation and business with Vittore Zanetti since his apprenticeship. Reference is made to a disagreement over the price of a certain part of stock, and that the part of the business he is most focused on (the carving and gilding) can be found under "Messrs. Zanetti, Bolongaro and Agnew the then intended firm". He concludes by writing of his mother and step-father's situation for the last 12 years.
Please note: the dating of this letter is inconsistent (the two dates given are 1817, and 4 Mar 1818). The original letter can be found at NGA27/32/14/3.
