Description
Letter from The Fine Art Society to Sir Edward Poynter offering for sale a painting by Carpaccio, previously owned by the late John Ruskin. Subsequent letters addressed to Hawes Harrison Turner reiterate the offer at the price of £1500 and includes delivery instructions. Also includes a receipt for the painting after it was sent to the Gallery for inspection and a copy of the description which accompanied the picture. The offer was declined.
