'Dreaming' is a playful interactive experience that takes a journey through the dense web of the Gallery's collection data. It draws associations between the paintings from a compositional and visual aspect, as well their factual relationships.  

Displayed on the Sainsbury Wing's Big Screen during a Friday Late Digital Takeover, the work transformed the collection and its numerous interconnected relationships using AI and computer vision techniques.

As visitors gave voice prompts, 'Dreaming' analysed their words to produce a rich, digital knowledge map of connections based on each painting’s tags and data. The result was a visually stunning display that revealed the collection's always fascinating, sometimes surprising, interconnectivity in real time. 

'Dreaming' was designed and developed in collaboration with digital agency Numiko and is part of the Gallery's NGX innovation programme.
