‘Carreg Ateb: Vision or Dream?’ is a multi-part performance developed by Frân Wen’s Young Company, an award-winning Welsh-language Theatre in Bangor, commissioned as part of Jeremy Deller’s ‘The Triumph of Art’ in partnership with Mostyn, Llandudno.

This experimental AR experience, built by creative director and developer Klaire Tanner, extends the Gallery’s commitment to inventive digital storytelling.

The Young Company’s theatrical procession from Manod to London transforms into an interactive journey to visit some of the National Gallery’s most treasured paintings.

Through the AR app, visitors are invited to take a digital step into the Welsh landscape, before entering the Gallery to explore a series of paintings and respond to creative prompts. 

Each choice shapes the construction of their own unique mythical character. The project blends co-creation, play and emerging technology to open new pathways for audiences to engage with art, imagination and place.
