About
This summer will be epic, bringing the 'Odyssey' to the world’s screens for us all to relive the adventures of Odysseus, the legendary king of Ithaca in the ancient Greek poem attributed to Homer.
Odysseus’ ‘nostos’, his long and perilous journey home after the Trojan War, has been a frequent source of inspiration for artists. On this tour find the paintings in the collection that bring us close to some of Homer’s heroes. From the Renaissance to 19th century, Carré guides you to the origins of the Trojan War all the way to Odysseus’ reunion with his wife Penelope.
