About
Join us for a light-hearted evening of laughter with our inaugural comedy night at the Supporters' House Salon. Three hand-picked stand-up comedians, all of whom have a connection to the world of art, will kickstart your weekend with belly laughs.
The evening is curated by Nice N' Spiky, an award-winning comedy club producing high quality comedy nights for wonderful spaces across London, with 20 years of experience bringing the best names to live stages.
The comedians
Britain's Got Talent semi-finalist and star of the Netflix Special ‘Live in Amsterdam’ Markus Birdman incorporates visual artwork and animations in his comedy performances. After graduating from art school, Markus became a Graffiti Artist, Muralist, Performance Poet, and Glastonbury Festival Poetry Slam Champion.
Sam Williams, an award-winning comedian, writer, and actor from Maidenhead, is known for his vivid confessional stand-up. His acclaim on the live circuit includes winning the Komedia New Comedy Award in 2023 and making his TV debut on BBC Three’s New Comedy Awards. Described by Chortle as “barnstorming… the complete package,” Sam continues to impress both on stage and online.
Annie McGrath is a comedian renowned for her joke writing skills and deadpan style. Described by The Feminist Fringe as “dark and hilarious” ★★★★★, Annie’s sell-out Edinburgh Fringe show, Shepherd, received critical acclaim and transferred to a run at London’s Soho Theatre. Aside from comedy, Annie is also a talented artist and host of Secret Artists podcast, which has been recommended by The Times, Evening Standard, The Guardian, iNews, Esquire, and The Art Newspaper. Annie curated the 2019 exhibition, Art is the Best Medicine, which featured artwork by fellow comedians – including Jenny Eclair, Joe Lycett, Vic Reeves, and many more.
