Giovanni Francesco da Rimini

active 1441, died 1470 or earlier

Giovanni Francesco da Rimini (not to be confused with the early 14th-century Giovanni da Rimini) was a mid-15th-century painter born in Rimini and recorded as working in Padua and Bologna. He specialised in religious commissions and was strongly influenced by Paduan master Francesco Squarcione. Though Giovanni Francesco attempted to integrate classical elements into his work, his overall style retains Gothic features.
