Apologising that he was at the Athenaeum when Mr Holland called with his letter, and informing him that a lady who applied to him is the niece of Sir Henry Layard, that his conditions concerning the copying of National Portrait Gallery pictures on loan are observed, that the Draper has not yet fixed the sheet over the pictures, and that Sir Frederic Burton is still in Italy.
