Before you get to the Gallery

The National Gallery is free to visit.

The Roden Centre for Creative Learning is open for booked school groups 10:00 -18:00 Monday – Friday during term time and individuals and families 10:00 – 18:00 on Saturday, Sunday and school holidays.

The Roden Centre for Creative Learning entrance

The Roden Centre for Creative Learning entrance is on Orange Street. This is a step-free entrance, with level access to the Gallery for schools, families and learners of all ages and any visitors requiring step-free access.

Parking

A blue badge parking bay is available outside the entrance.

Entrance

There are three doors. The door on the right-hand side is the entrance.

 

Security checks

There will be security checks when you enter the Gallery.

You will be asked to walk through a security arch and the security team may ask to see inside your bag. If you have any special medical equipment with you, please let the security member of staff know.

Toilets

A disabled toilet is available on the ground floor. A baby change is available in this toilet.

A Changing Places toilet facility is available on the ground floor. You will need a radar key to enter the toilet. We can provide a key. - **Who do you get a key from?

 

The Changing Places toilet includes a toilet, sink, hoist, screen and shower.

Lifts

Lift access is available between the galleries and the Ground Floor.

Resources

Wheelchairs and folding stools

Self-propelled and standard wheelchairs as well as a rollator are available to reserve before you arrive – please call 020 7747 2885. A limited number are available on a first come, first served basis at the Getty entrance. Folding stools are also available. Please ask at the welcome desk at the Getty entrance when you arrive.

Access to the Galleries

Access to the galleries is through two doors on the first floor.

 

Inside the Gallery

Each room in the Gallery has a number. There are maps displayed around the building with the room numbers. You can also download or print a map in advance of your visit. Paper maps are also available to buy for £2 from the welcome desks at the Portico and Getty entrances.
