Visitors with mobility access requirements

We offer a range of facilities to help you explore the paintings, visit exhibitions and come to events.

Badge-holder parking

There is one designated parking space on Orange Street for National Gallery visitors only.

48 hours advance booking is required on 020 7747 2885.

There are three designated parking bays on St Martin's Street. Please phone Westminster Parking Information Service on 020 7823 4567 for more information.

Public car parks are available nearby in Leicester Square and Trafalgar Square.

Level entrances

Four entrances have level access: the Getty, Sainsbury Wing, National Café and Pigott Education Centre entrances.

As a Grade I listed building, the main Portico entrance does not have level access.

Transport and standard manual wheelchairs are available to book in advance. Please call 020 7747 2885.

A limited number are available on a first come, first served basis at the Getty Entrance on Level 0 and the Sainsbury Wing cloakroom on Level 0. Please ask at the desk upon arrival.

Going to a talk? The Sainsbury Wing Theatre on Levels −1 and −2 has spaces for wheelchairs. Ramp access to the front of the theatre is on Level -2.

There are adapted toilets near all entrances.


Seating is available around the Gallery.
