Description
A framed print portrait of George Salting (1835-1909) holding a vase. The portrait is accompanied by a handwritten note and photocopy of partner portrait, as follows:
"I assume Agnews were among the select band of agents who bought for G. S. [Copy of print of Salting holding a vase a]t Fenton House (Nat: Trust). This and your print are gum prints by the organic chemist and amateur photographer Dr. Otto Rosenheim. He took two photos of Salting, one of him holding a vase, and (yours) one of him holding a bronze. They are the primary images of Salting who, his fabulous collections not withstanding, was something of a recluse... Felix".
