Description
From Milan: Eastlake has been to Cremona, Ferrara, and Ravenna. He will tell Avveroldi that it is not practicable to send him a photograph of his Romanino. Eastlake has seen Pinti and recommends that Mr Bentley restores 'Carthage'. He gives his opinion of Mr Bentley; mentions Leedham and Morrill. Detailed comments on Wornum's proposals for a new picture hang. Opinion and price for restoration of the Bergognone lunette (lost in transit); price for restoration of the frame. Wornum to check if it has been paid. Eastlake has received two letters from Mündler re tax connected with Fra Angelicos. Eastlake goes to Paris. He has heard from Mr Robinson that Mr Uzzielli has died. Mr Robinson and Mr Redgrave go to Florence and Naples.
