Filippo Baldinucci (1624–97) is the author of 'Notizie de' professori del disegno da Cimabue in qua' ('Notes on Teachers of Drawing from Cimabue until Now') a book in six volumes published in Florence partly in 1681 and then posthumously in 1728. This publication became the primary source for Baroque artists' biographies.
He lived in Florence and worked at the Medici court, first as an intellectual, and then as the keeper of the art collection.
