NG Citizens: Session Three

24 January 2026

In late January, Assembly Members met in person at The National Gallery for Session Three of NG Citizens.

While several Members had already returned for Friday Lates ahead of the session, Session Three offered everyone the chance to reconnect with the Gallery through guided tours of the collection. They also heard from Gallery staff, deepening their understanding of the organisation’s programmes, collections and learning work, across both past and current projects.

In the afternoon, Members took part in a market-stall style activity with external community groups. Through these conversations, they explored accessibility and inclusion in the arts, gaining insight into a range of lived experiences and perspectives.

Drawing on everything they had seen and heard, Members began shaping their final principles for the Gallery - imagining what a future National Gallery could feel like if those ideas were fully brought to life.
