About

What does that tulip symbolise? Why are there two petunias on that table? And what is the significance of a cup of water and a rose?

Join expert guide Emma Matthews on a tour through the National Gallery’s collection as she sheds light on the floral details that make a painting, and its creator, so intriguing. The significance of specific flowers in paintings often runs deeper than one might expect. ‘The collection in bloom’ tour uncovers the answers to these questions, revealing fresh insights along the way.
