About

For centuries, gardens have served as a place of storytelling in paintings. Join Emily Dell on an exploration of how the English garden, the Italian terrace and more iconic landscapes have shaped artistic expression. On this tour, Emily uncovers the horticultural significance woven into the collection, and reveals how artists have used cultivated landscapes to inspire meaning, mood, and imagination.

Your Host

Emily Dell has been happily working in the tourism industry for 16 years, guiding groups and individuals in and around London. She received her London Blue Badge accreditation in 2018, which allowed her to guide in the places she feels most at home - galleries. Emily's a storyteller by trade and believes some of the most interesting tales can be found within a picture frame and when she’s not talking about art, she can often be found with a sketchbook, whilst drawing the London skyline. Selling her work at Portobello Road Market was one of her proud achievements and won her pitch with the King's Trust award scheme.
