About

Join us in the Art Studio to share your sketchbook, consult on directions for study, and explore new creative processes.

This session is specifically designed for children educated outside of school, who are developing their art skills and working towards a formal award.

Whether you are developing your work for an Art Award or GCSE, eager to consider different directions to push your interests, or curious about new materials to discover, join us in the RCCL Art Studio.

As an artist, educator and Art Award Adviser Joanna Conybeare will share individual focus time to discuss your work, suggest new avenues to explore and connections through our collection.

There is an open studio atmosphere with artistic materials and techniques available to explore in the context of your interests, as well as time spent in the Gallery to discuss ideas and encourage your critical thinking.

Don't forget to bring your sketchbooks/portfolios!

During sessions, parent/carers must remain onsite.

Before/after the session, you are welcome to enjoy your packed lunch in the Social Space of the Roden Centre for Creative Learning.

Your Artist/Educator

Joanna Conybeare is an artist and Gallery Educator who has worked in Primary and Secondary schools in London and the south coast as a teacher and subject lead for Art and Design. In her own artistic practice, she uses clay, porcelain and terracotta to explore the figure, enjoying the immediacy of the material that enables her to ‘draw’ three-dimensionally.
