SOLO presents Rob Burton
About
SOLO returns to the National Gallery’s Friday Lates for two pop-up performances by saxophonist Rob Burton.
Rob is an avid performer of new music, collaborating with composers such as Richard Baker and Nathan James Dearden on their works. Featured as one of Classic FM’s Stars of Tomorrow, he’s performed with the likes of Britten Sinfonia, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra at venues across the country.
For SOLO, Rob is performing contemporary works that respond to the landscapes of Vincent van Gogh in Room 43. Taking van Gogh's swirling skies, intricate brushwork and bold colour palettes as a starting point, there’s music from Edmund Finnis and a brand new work by composer Alex Groves.
SOLO
SOLO is a London-based concert series presenting intimate recitals from some of the UK's leading classical musicians.
Run by composer Alex Groves, SOLO is a melting pot of formative influences, collaborations and new adventures. Each artist takes you on a deep dive into the unknown, exploring the music that's made them who them are today and giving you a unique insight into their life as a musician.
