About

Join Andrew Maginley in the Salon for a candlelit musical evening, performed on an 18th-century lute. Part recital, part art-historical exploration, the event traces the connections between music and painting in an age captivated by light, science and emotion.

Focusing on the cultural world that shaped Joseph Wright of Derby’s dramatic candlelit scenes, Andrew uses the lute as a bridge between sound and image. You're welcome to ask questions and share ideas at this event.
