The Master of Cappenberg is named after the Crucifixion altarpiece in Cappenberg, Westphalia. All the paintings associated with the Cappenberg Master are Westphalian; none is signed or dated, but all seem to belong approximately to the years between 1500 and 1525. The Cappenberg Master is sometimes identified as Jan Baegert.
