The
National Gallery offers interactive guided tours
to over 80,000 school-aged students per year, and
for more than 10 years has been running a highly
successful nationwide cross-curricular scheme for
primary schools, called 'Take
One Picture'.
Using this expertise and mounting
evidence proving that teaching and learning is enriched
by using paintings as a stimulus across curriculum
subjects, the National Gallery has started welcoming
on a structured formal basis primary teacher training
students as part of their university course.
