The National Gallery Library and Archive is currently closed to visitors while building works are undertaken on our new and enlarged Research Centre.
We aim to offer a limited service in temporary accommodation later in 2026 and to reopen fully in 2028.
During the period of closure, we are maintaining an email enquiry service, as well as our online catalogues and digital resources.
We can answer enquiries about our Library and Archive, including the history of the Gallery and its Collection, but we are unable to give general information about art or artists, or to give valuations of works of art.
