Letter from Frederic Leighton to Mary Ford
Archive reference number
Informing Mary Ford that he has kept hardly any of Mrs Lewes' [Marian E. Lewes, i.e. George Eliot] letters, and those in his possession cannot with propriety be given away. [Two letters of George Eliot, neither of them addressed to Leighton, were lots 25 & 26 in the sale of Mary Ford's autograph collection.]
Includes a printed article, , and poet's tribute, [Oct 1871] to Frederic Leighton
