Letter (28 Oct 1888) from Briton Rivière, with envelope, to Sir William Agnew congratulating him upon his return to politics. Rivière reflects upon the political subjects, including "too frequent" American Presidential elections, his opinion that governments should be allowed a longer tenure to allow time for policy development and Gladstone and the issue of Home Rule for Ireland. Rivière also describes trouble he has been having with his "remaining eye" which may curtail his work as a painter and about which he is anxious.
