Copy record of a letter dated 15 Dec 1910 and written in French from William Lockett Agnew to [Aureliano] de Beruete [father or son] regarding an unnamed painting [possibly by a Viennese artist] and criticism in the English press.
A copy record of a letter from Thos. Agnew & Sons to Charles Gerald Agnew dated 3 Nov 1911 is included on the same page. The ink is partly faded and indeciperhable. It instructs him to contact the solicitor of a Mr Chapman concerning the price of 'the Proserpine picture' [possibly one of several versions by Dante Gabriel Rossetti]. The letter instructs that William Lockett Agnew is not prepared to go above a certain price for the painting.
