Title
Letter from John Murray Scott to Poynter
Date
30 Jan 1904
Archive reference number
NG68/26/5
Description
Asking the Treasury for funding towards the acquisition of the Van Dyck and Titian will only succeed if all of the Trustees are in support of such a move. Scott's own view on the Van Dyck is that it would not be wise to spend more than £18,000 on the picture. He reserves his opinion on the Titian until he has had an opportunity to see it again.
