Informing him that the whole of the ordinary Grant-in-Aid for the
Purchase of Pictures for 1895-6 has now been expended and requesting that
a further advance of £5000 be sanctioned from the Civil Contingencies
Fund to enable the purchase of certain desirable pictures at ensuing
sales.
