Description
Two letters from J. M Taylor to the Trustees of the National Gallery offering for sale a painting of a grand landscape by giorgione on behalf of a private owner for 1200 guineas. Two subsequent letters from Taylor to G. Saunders Thwaites concerning the delivery of the picture to the Gallery for inspection by Charles Lock Eastlake. The offer was declined.
