Description
Three letters from Hewey Hawley to the Trustees of the National Gallery and subsequently to Sir Frederic Burton informing them that Sir Joseph Hawley, his brother, has bequeathed to the Gallery a portrait of 'Cardinal Beut[illegible]' by Francesco Francia. The picture was sent for inspection and the offer declined.
