Correspondence between the Director, the Duke of Wellington [Chairman of Trustees], Lord Crawford [Trustee] A. Johnston of HM Treasury and Lord Rothschild, 1953-1955, re sale of the latter's portrait of 'The Morning Walk' by Gainsborough, Government assistance towards the purchase by raising the Gallery's annual purchase grant and the NACF's contribution towards the purchase price.
