Transfiguration

The Transfiguration is the name given to Christ's revelation of his divine status to his apostles. He took Saints Peter, James and John up to a mountain top and was there transfigured. Moses and Elijah appeared to them, while a voice from a bright cloud overhead declared 'This is my beloved son, hear him' (Matthew 17: 1-13, Mark 9: 2-13, Luke 9: 28-36).
