About

Jon King, formerly Bernays Curatorial Fellow of British Paintings at the National Gallery, explores how cultures of childhood, morality and visual spectacle helped define 18th-century ways of seeing, from Joseph Wright 'of Derby’s' candlelit scenes, to the peepshows and magic lanterns that illuminated the age.
