Jack Hartnell's 'Wound Man'
Book talk
About
Art historian Jack Hartnell, Head of Research at the National Gallery, presents a talk on his book 'Wound Man', which explores a remarkable medieval image and its long afterlife. Using a single, striking figure as a starting point, Hartnell reveals how art, science and visual knowledge intersected in the past, shaping ideas about the human body and how it could be understood. The talk offers a thought-provoking look at the power of images in galleries, books and medical practice, and how they continue to influence the way we see and interpret the world.
There will be an opportunity to purchase a signed copy of the book at the event.
