About

This talk celebrates the great women of Champagne. The vision and leadership of these remarkable figures have helped shape some of the most famous Champagne houses in the world.

We begin with Barbe-Nicole Ponsardin, Veuve Clicquot, whose innovations in riddling, vintage Champagne and rosé set new standards for quality in the early 19th century. We then look at Louise Pommery, whose understanding of British tastes led her to create one of the first brut Champagnes, changing the style of Champagne forever. Lily Bollinger followed, guiding her house through challenging times and establishing Bollinger as one of the great names in Champagne.

Turning to today, we highlight Vitalie Taittinger, President of Champagne Taittinger, who continues her family’s legacy with a strong focus on sustainability, long-term thinking and cultural values. We also recognise Alexandra Pereire de Nonancourt of Laurent-Perrier, whose leadership has maintained the house’s reputation for elegance, innovation and independence.

Hosted by Martin Dibben, aka MisterBubblesUK, a respected voice in the UK Champagne world and Head of Wine & Champagne at Searcys, this talk will include a paired tasting designed to complement the styles and stories shared throughout the talk.
