Master of the Lehman Crucifixion

active about 1352 - 1399?

The Master of the Lehman Crucifixion was a Florentine painter who is named after a Crucifixion in the Lehman Collection (New York, Metropolitan Museum of Art). His style is close to Jacopo di Cione. It has been suggested that the painter may be identifiable with the Camaldolese monk Don Silvestro dei Gherarducci, who probably trained in the circle of Jacopo di Cione and died in 1399.
